Gemma’s journey with Jo Hansford began at just 16, when she joined the salon as a junior. Over the past 25 years, she has grown with the business to become one of its most influential and respected figures- a true pillar of the Jo Hansford team.
Now recognised as Jo’s trusted second in command, Gemma plays a pivotal role not only in the day-to-day running of the salon, but in safeguarding its future. She leads the renowned Jo Hansford training programme, where she is instrumental in developing the next generation of colourists. Through her mentorship, she passes on an exceptional depth of technical knowledge, a meticulous eye for detail, and the signature standards that define the salon. Many of today’s rising talents within the team have been shaped directly by Gemma’s guidance.
Alongside her leadership responsibilities, Gemma maintains a consistently full and loyal client column. Her expertise and refined approach to colour have made her a go-to for a number of high-profile clients, including Natascha McElhone and Jemma Redgrave. She is known for delivering beautifully tailored, natural-looking results with precision and care.
